The Impostor Son

2026-03-04

After I was diagnosed with ALS, my wife and the "son" cared for me devotedly. Yet I insisted on leaving the family estate worth hundreds of billions to a stranger. The entire internet called me mad, and my family turned against me. Until I revealed the truth publicly: this devoted "son" was a fake, and he and my wife were the true culprits behind the murder of my biological son. All my suffering was for this revenge.收起

Chapter 1 of "The Impostor Son"

My name is Larry Donovan. At forty, I was given a diagnosis of ALS. The day I received the report, the sky was gray and heavy, mirroring my mood—so burdened I could barely breathe. The doctor said the disease will gradually strip away my ability to move, and in the end, even breathing will become difficult. I did not cry; I simply sat on the hospital corridor bench, stunned for a long while. I am no ordinary man; years ago, I achieved financial freedom. The company under my control is valued at hundreds of billions, so the cost of treatment is no concern. But money can buy medicine; it cannot buy health, nor can it buy time. When I returned home, I told my wife Rosalind Jackson and my son Bruce Donovan about the diagnosis. Rosalind's eyes immediately reddened; she embraced me and cried, promising she would always stay by my side and care for me. Bruce Donovan had just started university. After hearing the news, he was silent for a long while before saying he wanted to take a leave of absence and return home. I disagreed, telling him that his studies were important and that having a caregiver by my side was sufficient. But he was adamant, insisting that I was his father and he had to come back to take care of me; no one could replace him. In the end, I couldn't argue with him and had to watch as he completed the leave of absence procedures. From that day on, Rosalind Jackson changed. She had once lived a life of privilege, never having to lift a finger with household chores. But now, she wakes up early every day to help me dress and wash. By the end, I couldn't even manage to use the bathroom on my own, yet Rosalind never showed the slightest disdain; she personally helped me clean myself. Whenever she did this, I was filled with guilt for making her suffer such indignity. But she always smiled and said that between husband and wife, supporting each other is only natural, and there is nothing to worry about. Bruce was the same—every day, he gave me massages and turned me over at scheduled times to prevent bedsores. His technique was very clumsy at first and often caused me pain, but he was patient, gradually improving and becoming more skillful over time. Watching them rush busily on my behalf, I felt both warmth and sorrow in my heart. I knew I couldn't simply sink into despair. By chance, I saw someone sharing their life through live broadcasts, helping many people in need. Suddenly, an idea struck me—I could start live broadcasting. I want to use live broadcasts to raise awareness of ALS, help people understand this disease, and hopefully contribute to ALS research. I shared this idea with Rosalind Jackson and Bruce Donovan, and both of them supported me. Thus, my live broadcast account "Larry Donovan, the Frozen Man" was launched. In every live broadcast, I shared with everyone the progression of my illness and the daily care Rosalind Jackson and Bruce Donovan gave me. Many internet users were moved by our story, following my account and sending words of encouragement. I also promised to donate all profits from the live broadcasts to ALS research institutions. Watching the encouraging messages scroll endlessly in the live chat and seeing the donation amounts gradually rise, I felt my life had regained meaning.

The Coveted Identity

The moment I took the keys to the villa, I thought I could finally escape the dormitory nightmare—until Anne Shane rushed over, snatched the keys from me, and shouted with red-rimmed eyes, "You've stolen my life!" The Silent Wife

"This is the fifth surgery, Mrs. Claire," the doctor said, his gaze fixed on my throat, his voice heavy with gravity. "If we alter your voice once more, your throat may never fully recover." I signed the consent form without hesitation. More than my throat, I feared the pain twisted across his face whenever he heard my voice. That night, I pushed open the door and, with this new, hoarse voice, called out to him: "Ryan." True to form, he covered his ears again, curling inward, his reaction flawless. "Don't speak... Claire, go outside." I smiled, but tears fell onto the floor. Until dawn, I picked up the hearing aid he had dropped, and from the living room came my husband's voice—calm, yet cruel: "Once Shirley becomes your new mother, we won't have to pretend anymore."收起

A Flaw Beyond Your League

Joan Smith snatched the crying Quinn. "If you hadn't used the child to trap me, why on earth would I marry you, a mere driver?" My blood ran cold as I watched her rush toward the balcony. "What are you doing?!" I lunged forward and gripped her tightly. "Destroy everything wrong!" she screamed. "My love with Seward, my life—it's all been ruined by you!" "She's your daughter!" "I don't have a daughter like that!" Despair washed over me like icy water. Looking at the daughter in my arms and her resolute face, I stepped back to the edge of the balcony, my voice so cold it sounded foreign to me: "If we're such an eyesore, then fine, just as you wish." I held Quinn tight and leapt forward, finally hearing her terrified scream: "Cyrus Evans! You—"收起

I Defended the Man who Hurt My Wife

Revenge of the Betrayed Lawyer

In the banquet hall, Dora Hill knelt there, her gown like a carefully cultivated white lotus. "Mr. Louis forced me..." she whispered. My fiancé, Sydney Ray, pushed through the crowd and crouched down, offering her a pristine white handkerchief. "Don't be afraid. I'll take this case." He raised his head and locked his gaze on me, his eyes as sharp as knives. "Nita Hill, you just stood there and did nothing. What kind of lawyer are you?" My heart suddenly clenched. In my previous life, I stopped him from defending Dora Hill. He framed me, causing me to die in prison. This time, I only took a sip of champagne and smiled faintly. "Go ahead, take it." "Sidney, the show is yours to start."收起

He Sought Her Comfort On My Period

Clutching my aching belly, I pushed open the door. Amidst the thick cloud of smoke, a woman in a camisole dress was slouched on the couch. "So, you're Jane Cheney?" She blew smoke rings, her eyes flicking over my pale face. "A woman in this much pain from cramps won't have an easy time getting pregnant later." I frowned at my boyfriend, Gene Carl, but he just tried to soothe me, gently steering me toward the bedroom. "This is my childhood friend, Charlotte. She can be blunt—don't take it personally. Now go get some rest." That night, I woke up in pain, only to find the space beside me empty. When I opened the bedroom door, I saw Gene Carl slipping out of the guest room—pajamas rumpled, hair still damp. As he quietly lay back down beside me, my voice cut through the darkness: "You were just out for half...
